Zadie's pigeon, part 1
Zadie discovered a pigeon that had built a nest on the balcony of our hotel in Cocoa Beach.
Happy family!
Up at 4 am, 6 and 1/2 hours of waiting with only a 30% chance of launching, and it was all worth it!

4th of July Parade in Greeley
We were fortunate to be invited to watch the Greeley 4th of July Parade from a friends yard. Kids were given a special place down by the curb. We gave Zack a chair with built-in shade. Bob taught him about removing his hat and putting it over his heart when the US flag goes by. He got lots of practice at the parade today.

Bob had found a book on carpentry projects for kids and put it in Zack’s room to see if it sparked any interest. Sure enough, Zack was interested and picked the most difficult project, a car. Bob was game and enlisted the help of Gary next door. In one day the 3 of them cut the wood, and hammered and nailed it together. Zack learned how to measure using a folding ruler, the difference between types of nails and screws and how to hammer a nail.

How Zack Trained for the Mutton Bustin
The day of his ride, we made a pretend sheep in the basement so Zack could practice keeping his balance. Zack named the trainer Big Bo Peep.
